Q.My peach tree did not leaf out this spring

Zone Joliet, IL., 60436 | cisco1046 added on June 8, 2015 | Answered

The year before last my peach tree produced big delicious fruit. Last year lots of leaves but no fruit. The assumption is because of the long winter. Last fall I pruned my peach tree down to approximately 2 inches. Now this spring my tree has no leaves. I hope I did not hurt my tree. Will be very grateful for your advice. Thank you.

Most likely the long cold winter did effect the tree.
We have found numerous gardeners with winter damage and trees and plants that did not survive at all.

I'm concerned when you say you pruned your tree to 2 inches.
Did you mean 2 feet?
Did you prune your branches to this size?
This drastic of a pruning combined with the harsh winter may have been to much for your tree.
