Q.My lime tree bears fruit with no taste

Zone Summer rainfall | jennik added on March 2, 2012 | Answered

There are many fruit which are perfectly formed and the tree looks healthy, but the fruit have absolutely no flavour – not even the slightest bit sour. It is grown in a large pot and fertilised with MultiFeed P fruit and flower fertiliser.

With fruit, this is normally an indication that the plant is over fertilized or under fertilized. As it sounds like you are fertilizing, they tree may too well off. Have the soil tested to see if the soil is over fertilized.

In the meantime, it will not hurt the tree, if you have been fertilizing regularly, to miss a few fertilizations to see if that helps.
