Q.my hydrangea is not blooming

Zone 14225-3609 | Anonymous added on July 9, 2019 | Answered

I have a large hydrangea that I have had for a couple of years and has always bloomed bunches. So far this year I only have one small flower. I have always had lots of big blooms. I think they are Mopheads. Why aren’t they growing now?
thank you

It is likely that you have Hydrangea macrophylla... These flower on new growth, so proper pruning, and maintenance will be necessary to get this to flower. This article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/shrubs/hydrangea/hydrangea-not-blooming.htm
