Q.My Grass Has Patches And Doesn’t Appear To Be Growing In The Middle Area.

Zone Scotland | Stafford86 added on May 14, 2020 | Answered

Hi, I am very amatuer when it comes to gardening, so I was wondering if anybody could help me. Last year around about April, i had paid for somebody to come and and lay turf to my garden as it was just stones we had down and it would give the kids somewhere to play when outside. At the start of april this year I gave the the grass a cut and noticed that there was quite a lot of patchy areas and there also appears to be a lot of discoulored grass that is mostly in the middle area. It has now been well over a month since the last time I had cut the grass and it doesn’t appear to have grown any, except from around one side at the fencing. The grass gets plenty of sunshine/rain especially the middle. It is quite frustrating as it is horrible to look at. Is this something that somebody like myself could fix? Or is this a case of ripping it all up and starting again, if atal it is even fixable? Thanks.

This can have many causes, but given your area it could be due to receiving just a little too much water when trying to establish.
