Q.My Camellia Isn’t Lookin So Healthily

Help! My 1 yes old camellia isn’t looking so healthy – the leaves are discolored and it looks as if the bud aren’t going to open

Unfortunately, this resembles the early stages of several diseases. I suspect a fungal pathogen, such as Pestalotiopsis or Phyllosticta, or similar. There is a chance that it could be viral, but you would be able to tell since it would not respond to treatment, at all.

It looks like damage due to exposure to me, temperature related or wind. It does look like it needs more water also. The brown buds are dead. Common causes are very cold temperatures, not enough water or too much water, etc. A big temp drop can also cause bud drop. They will fall on their own or you can carefully twist them.
