My Bromelaid is suddenly changing color at the top.

i have a beautiful red bromelaid. It has suddenly started turning yellow at the top? Any suggestions or ideas as to why?

The false flower sounds like it is dying off. This is normal. These will flower once, and then that portion will completely die off. It will be replaced by a pup, similar to a pineapple. These are very closely related.
