Q.my asparagus hasn’t grown

Zone sandy soil | suemalc added on June 21, 2012 | Answered

I bought some plants from a grower three years ago and I let them grow on for three years. This year over half the plants haven’t grown there has been no sign of life. Does this mean my plants are dead or do you think they might do something next year.

This article will help determine if the plants are still alive: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/environmental/how-to-tell-if-a-plant-is-dead-and-how-to-recover-an-almost-dead-plant.htm

As for your sandy soil, this should be fixed to improve the growing conditions for your plants. Without adequate soil, your asparagus plants cannot thrive. This article will help with that: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/garden-how-to/soil-fertilizers/amending-sandy-soil.htm
