Q.My Asiaitic Lilies Bloomed And Died Within A Two Week Period What Happened?

Zone New Era MI 49446 | Anonymous added on August 19, 2023 | Answered

The plants bloomed and then browned and died. I need to know what I did wrong. These flowers have been blooming and staying around for the summer months. They were here when I moved in 14 years ago,and bloomed well. This year has not proved to be a good year for these flowers.

Asiatic lilies only bloom once about midsummer. Then the foliage slowly dies back during the summer. If your lilies have been blooming for 14 years, they probably need to be divided to increase their vigor. Also, if you haven't fertilized, you might try a slow release 5-10-10 next spring.
