Q.My Aenium Bush Has Weird Scratches Or Markings On Many Of The Rosettes’ Leaves, No One Knows What This Is.

Im not familiar with this type of succulent it’s a new purchase.

The “scratches “ or markings are appearing in many of the rosettes … i’ve inquired in nurseries but no one has seen this type of markings before.

the stems are also long, skinny and woody (like flaky) which seem unsuitable for propagating from those.

Black lines on aeonium are caused by touching or abrading the rosettes. Always hold them by the stems if you are taking cuttings. Anything that touches the leaves or if it rubs up against something will leave these black lines or spots, but they won't show up till the next day.
