Q.My 20 year old eucalyptus tree

Zone DG9 0 BQ | eileeningram@talktalk.net added on March 25, 2018 | Answered

Our eucalyptus tree offers a lovely canopy and is pruned each year. The root system has distorted my patio, can I cut a couple of them off without damaging the tree ?

Without harming your tree... No. Trees that have large root systems should always be planted, at least, 50 feet from houses, water lines, or other structures that could be damaged. Unfortunately, one of those must be sacrificed, whether it be the tree or the patio.
