Q.Magnolia Tree

Zone 15237 | margsk added on June 12, 2016 | Answered

I cut down a Magnolia tree last summer. This year I have what appears to be 7 trees growing back in the same place. They look great – like a nice healthy bush. I would love to let them grow. I am wondering do I need to cut back to only one stem – or can I keep them all growing?

Yes, you can prune it for shape, and to be one trunk.
I have done that with my Magnolia.
Pruning should be done in late spring, so I would wait until next season.
