I need to know what low-maintenance plants can be used for erosion control on the bank of a creek which is on my property.

Vinca minor is a popular choice for this kind of thing. It spreads quickly and holds hillsides together well. You may also look into pennywort. It is normally considered a weed, but grows well in damp areas and spreads well.
