Q.Losing Bark

Zone Fort Myers, Florida 33919 | frank@ussafety.us added on November 29, 2024 | Answered

I have a foxtail,15 feet to the frown base that is losing its bark like exterior about 5 feet off the ground. Is this normal? Should I do something to protect this area?

This can be normal for really old frond remnants to start chipping. However, if you are noticing signs of disease in the living fronds, then there may be some concern.
