Q.Looking For Something Like Japanese Acer To Go In Our Garden But It Is In An Exposed Position,no Shade On North Side Of A Gente Sl
ope in our village. Any suggestions?e Want something like an acer for its striking colours. Like the idea of slow growing but mustn’t have roots that penetrate to disturb our newly laid block paving drive. It would be on a slight raised slope about 5-6 ft. away from the drive .

The elderberry cultivars resemble a Japanese maple, particularly Black Lace and Lemony Lace. Japanese maples don't like hot weather but you can ask at the nursery for one that does well in full sun.
