You may have a part sun situation; full sun is 6 to 8 hours. However, full sun plants often appreciate afternoon shade in hot climates. Here are some plants that should attract hummers:
The annuals will bloom all year as long as it doesn't freeze. Shrubs like rose of Sharon, butterfly bush, and hibiscus will bloom from spring to fall if they get enough sun. Coral vine, or trumpet honeysuckle, is a favorite of hummers, and it blooms from spring till a freeze.
