Lime is mostly calcium and is used to raise pH. It would take hundreds of pounds to make grass do poorly depending on what your soil pH is now. I'm not sure it would kill it. It takes 5-8 pounds per 100 square feet to raise the pH by just 1 point. Since you will ruin the soil, why not go with solarization to kill grass and weeds?
