Q.Lily of the Valley

Zone 84003 | pineapple333 added on February 23, 2017 | Answered

I just purchased five roots of this plant and I had no idea until I read your website that I was supposed to plant them in the fall. Should I just plant them now or save them until fall? Are they able to be stored for a while or should I return them? Also, I was wanting to plant them in my window well to start a little garden in there. I was wondering that if I planted them down there if they’d die or be okay. Any answers?

Thanks

Yes, fall planting is needed to ensure a cold period.

You still could plant out the bulbs this spring, you just will not see flowering until next year.
