Lilac Bush

Question

I planted a lilac bush last week, then it rained for 4 days straight. Now 5 days later, all the petals fell off the bush and it looks brownish. Can I save my lilac bush? Did the rain cause this? Should I try to plant it somewhere else? Thank you.
