Leveling Footprints in Lawn

I have read your article on how to level a lawn. One thing it does not cover is years of footprint ruts in the soil. Not a level spot on the lawn. A professional said he would start the lawn from scratch, which would involve thousands of dollars. I can’t afford that and the lawn is crippling me because of osteoarthritus.

If it's a worn path, you would need to get enough topsoil to fill the depression(s), smooth it out and sow grass seed. Personally, I don't see a need to rework the entire lawn.
