Leave Dead Cuttings In Garden

Question

Will African Marigolds reseed over winter or if I scatter seed heads will they reseed in my garden? Can other plant cuttings be left in beds to fertilize/protect.ie.> hostas,day lillies,snapdragons begonia’s?

They should, definitely, reseed in your area. You shouldn't have to do anything, but if you would like, you can harvest the pods when they have dried out and scatter them.

As far as leaving dead growth as mulch- As long as this is not diseased in any way, then it will be fine to do so.
