Q.Lawn Grass

Zone Columbia, SC | k.f.carter@att.net added on July 13, 2017 | Answered

Planted 25#/AC Bermuda Hulled and 25#/AC Bermuda Unhulled, and 150#/AC Italian Rye. This are has an irrigation system. The grass has turned a very redish color. Its understood that the leaf sheaths are or can be tinges red at the base, but this literally looks like a field of red grass. The irrigation system as also been watering at lot…probably too much. Initial thought is this is “Red Thread” but the landscape contractor says it’s normal for this type of seed. What say you!
