Q.Lawn and spruce trees

We have 2 huge spruce trees and our lawn is suffering as the trees seems to take all the nutrients out of the lawn. What is best fertilizer for lawn. We have used Scott’s our lawn is also 40 years old and to big a job to rip it up at our age.

Yes, growing grass under and around Pine Trees or Spruce in your case is a difficult task.
You are battling acidic soil, water competition, lack of sunlight and all the needles dropping from the trees.
