Q.Large Jade Plant Potted For 20+ Years. Leaves Are Reddish-bronze And Are Small And Stay Wrinkled. Gets Direct Sun 6-7 Hrs Daily
Plant is heavy in pot and I don’t want to break up the pot and find that the roots are not the problem. Color is beautiful but afraid that it might be an indicator of a problem. I can’t remember if leaves have always been small and this color but wrinkling has been recent.

Jade plants will appreciate a repotting about every 5 years, as a mature plant. If this has been in the same pot for longer than that, then it may be time to give it a new pot. You can give it a larger container, or you can divide the plant in pot into two containers.
What is likely happening is a constricted root system is not allowing proper hydration. Along with this, soil nutrients will be low, as well as hard to obtain nutrients from due to the constriction.
