A variety of reasons are behind non-blooming hydrangeas. Anything that stresses the plant will limit bloom since putting out flowers takes a lot of plant energy. Is it unusually hot this year, getting too much sun, not enough water or is it simply mostly old wood at this point that needs rejuvenating. (Old wood on many shrubs does not bloom with the vigor of younger wood.) Do you fertilize it annually and/or give it a top-dressing with compost? Do you have tiny pests like aphids and thrips that are destroying buds? And if all of those check out, then you have to accept that hydrangeas can be temperamental.
