Killing grass using newspaper

Question

Doesn’t newspaper attract silverfish? Is there something I should then add to repel silverfish?? & if there’s a tree nearby should I avoid using vinegar in that area to keep roots safe??

Silverfish are attracted to paper and clothing; dark and damp is there happy place.

Look for traps or insecticides that treat these pests.
