Q.Kaffir Leaves Gone From Dark To Light Green ( Whitish Green )

Zone 4509 | Anna Teese added on April 22, 2020 | Answered

Hi All, We planted a Kaffir (Lime Leaf) plant ( 12 inch tall ) about 3 months ago in to a 3ft round x 2ft deep large pot with 3 inch of stone at the bottom, covered over by filter cloth and then filled the pot up to the top using Richgro all purpose potting mix and despite growth the leaves started changing colour.. I have attached 2 photo’s showing the bottom of the plants with nice deep green colour and as you look up the plant the leaves are changing colour. The plant gets morning sun from the North East / North but does not get afternoon sun ( North West ). We live in Qld, Australia and we are getting temps of 65F (18C ) Mornings and 81F ( 27C ) days and we are just entering Fall.. What to do? Is it the potting? Is it missing an ingredient? Thx in Advance AL

The pH of the soil is likely off. It is best to use soil specifically blended for citrus, and fertilizers as well.
