Q.Is This Epiphyllum New Growth Normal?

Zone Whangarei, New Zealand | Steve Charters added on March 3, 2022 | Answered

I rescued a neglected cactus from a secondhand shop. After nurturing it flowered well but the subsequent new growth looks unusual: very tall slender and stalky with spinelets like aerial roots. Is this usual?

This will indicate 3 things-

Humidity is too high, airflow is too low, and sunlight is too low.

Changing these three factors will improve the growth of the plant.
