Q.Is There Hope for My Hibiscus

Anonymous added on April 13, 2011 | Answered

I have a hibiscus that has no leaves, but upon checking a stem, it is still alive. All the leaves dropped during the winter in our garage. There does not appear to be any new growth coming at all. I did have white flies last summer but got rid of them after spraying two to three times. I have now started watering with a little fertilizer. This is my second year with it. Got it from Lowes early summer last year. Any hope?

If the stem is alive, it will come back. It is simply in dormancy. If the weather is consistently over 50 degrees F, place it back outside and water as you normally would. You will see leaves in just a few weeks.
