Q.Is It Worth While To Grow The Chaste Tree Back From Sprouts?

My Chaste tree was thriving in part sun/part shade. However, we had an unusual winter that killed several of my shrubs that normally withstand winter. The Chaste tree appeared dead as well and we cut it down leaving just enough to wrap a chain around and pull out. However, I notice that new \”sprouts\” are coming up vigorously from the bottom. I haven\’t had much luck with sprouts in other plants. Are these worth keeping? Should we leave the stumps intact and start again? Will we get blooms from sprouts?

This is normal behavior from the tree. They will die back to the roots in extreme weather. They will regrow from the roots, however. This article will help:
