Q.Is It Okay To Plant Knock Out Roses In Big Containers

Is it necessary to take them out of the containers and place them in the ground. I have clay soil where I live. Digging to the proper depth would be labor intensive. I bought them discounted last year and planted them in pots. Where I have them gets lots of sunlight all day long.

Yes, they do fine in containers as long as they are large enough to accommodate the rootballs. Here is more:
