Q.Is It Ok To Use Shredded Red Cedar Mulch On All Vegetables Grown In Containers.or Will It Reduce Productivity.

i tried an online search.every answer i got was constantly contradictory.thanks.

Both of these publications say shredded bark is fine. One said 1 inch and the other said 2 to 3 inches. Grass clippings, straw or hay, compost, shredded newspaper, and coconut coir are also suggested as container mulches. Using bark mulch in vegetable beds where the soil is annually cultivated is not recommended.
