Invasive plant

Question

I’m having a problem with an invasive plant which no-one seems to recognise. Its roots pervade the whole garden and our final solution is to dig up the whole garden.

What is it, and how can we be sure it’s gone for good?

I do believe this is Wild Ginger or European Ginger. Check with your local garden centers for a herbicide that targets this plant.
