Q.Identify A Leaf

I was given an apple tree as a present Malus Malibu Subito It is growing and there is an apple On it. The problem is there is something growing alongside it in the pot and I don’t know if it is part of the tree. The leaves look slightly different The apple tree leaves are more elongated. Should I cut them off ?

These are suckers from the root, which is a completely different Apple variety. Keep them trimmed, and correct any environmental factors that aren't quite where they should be to keep these from occurring.
