Q.

Can avocado and loquat trees cross pollinate?

Anonymous added on June 30, 2015 | Answered

I sprouted, planted and transplanted three avocado seeds. Now plants 10 years after being planted in the yard, they have fruit - but the fruit is loquats, not avocados - I live in Redwood forest, Santa Cruz County. Any ideas? A neighbor up the hill has a loquat tree. Can they cross pollinate? Thank you.
