Q.Can avocado and loquat trees cross pollinate?
I sprouted, planted and transplanted three avocado seeds. Now plants 10 years after being planted in the yard, they have fruit – but the fruit is loquats, not avocados – I live in Redwood forest, Santa Cruz County. Any ideas? A neighbor up the hill has a loquat tree. Can they cross pollinate? Thank you.
The simple answer is yes, they can cross pollinate.
