Q.I Received My Seed Potatoes Recently And Put Them In Egg Boxes In The Summerhouse For Chitting. I Failed To Cover Them And The Tem
perature dipped to minus 4c. I noticed that half way down they were damp, is this because of frost and if so will they recover? The potatoes had not sprouted and they look fine at the moment. I have purchased some horticultural fleece, will that be sufficient protection and what are the signs if they have been affected?

The moisture probably was from the frost. If the temperature was too cold they likely would rot.
The fleece is probably adequate or you can grow them indoors in a sunny window. These articles should help:
