Q.I Received A Small Dogwood Tree In A Plant Pot As A Gift. It Is Young But Growing Well. Do I Prune It?

Plant looks healthy but more like a bush now. Will the bottom leaves fall off”. Right now it looks more like a bush than A tree. It has grown about a foot in two month but still doesn’t;t look like a tree. What else should I do?

Since the tree is still young, you may need to prune it annually to encourage more of a "tree" shape and less of a "bush" shape. Dogwoods should be trimmed right as blooms fade.
