Q.I Purchased Salvia (Mojave Red) Today At The Local Garden Center. I Would Like Advice

re garding watering, best time to plant, and expected blooming months. Also, when to apply a general fertilizer. The Salvia is expected to grow 8 to 12 inches tall. The tag included with the plants instructions states to plant 10 – 12 inches apart.

Like other annual salvias, it should bloom all summer. Water when the soil begins to dry on top. You can use a slow release fertilizer that will fertilize when you water. Those can last about three months. If it's in a container, reapply after two months.

If you have the Jack's water soluble plant food, follow the instructions on the container as to how often to feed with it.
