Q.I Pruned My Lilac After Blooming. It Has Grown About A Foot And A Half Since Then, Which Is Too Much. Can I Prune It Again Or Wi

ll it not flower next year if I do? These lilac bushes are about 8 years old and I have taken good care of them. Every year they bloom heavily and then I prune. Next year they bloom heavily again. They grow some between pruning and the following spring but not a foot and a half. But this year they did and they look lanky.

You risk cutting off the developing buds for next year.

I would wait till the following spring and prune again after flowering.
