Q.I Planted Two Esperanzas Last Year That Died Back Over Winter. One Grew Back And Bloomed But The Other Looks Strange. What’s Goin

g on? Doesn’t even look like the same species this year. Both are about 4 ft tall, and the other one had a bounty of blooms that are now making seed pods. This one looks like it frankensteined

Reminds me of leaf growth that I see after applying some chemicals to other types of sensitive plants like roses. Research if any chemicals were used before the symptoms showed up. Perhaps something used on the plant itself... or nearby... either by you or a neighbor. Consider herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, miticides, etc.
