Q.I Planted A Whole Celery Stalk, Instead Of A Base. What Will Happen?

Anonymous added on April 30, 2021 | Answered

I think I misinterpreted some instructions for planting celery. What I did was place whole individual stalks (about 20cm long) in water. These grew some impressive looking roots and I then planted the whole stalk in potting soil. Is the celery likely to continue growing? Is it likely to sprout more stalks? What can I do to ensure that it does? The photo attached shows two stalks planted, plus another to give an idea of what the roots look like. Thanks very much!.

I think I would cut two of them down to the base, you already have roots and go ahead and plant like instructions. Then leave the other one and see what it does.
