Q.I Planted 15 Inch Ginkgo Trees 11/20 In S. California, They Leafed Out In The Spring, But Due To A Hot Summer They Dropped All Lea

ves by August. They have not leafed out again. The stems are still supple, but no signs of life. I watered about every 3 days ( a gallon or so) Are they dead? I probably didn’t keep them wet enough is my guess. How do I tell if I should remove them and start again. I initially surfaced water them, but more recently have been deep watering, but only once a week with 2 – 3 gallons.

You can tell if they are alive by scraping some of the stem off. If it is green underneath, they are still alive. If they are still alive, follow these cultural tips below.
