Q.I need help…dogs destroying my lawn

Our privacy fenced backyard is a disaster right now. Between several large dogs, a year full of record breaking rain, and a very warm winter, I have a huge (mostly) mud hole with some grass.

We recently installed a 600 foot (10% of our fenced yard) dog run that is filled with gravel. While that keeps the dogs clean and the mud out of the house, I still have a yard I cannot use.

So, I’m looking for hearty grass ideas or any helpful hints.

There are no lawn grasses that can stand up to heavy use by a dog, but these suggestions may help for general use:
