he in big pots until the holes are ready? I have some peoni bulbs that are sprouting already, but I do’t have the holes dug and it’s going to take me a while.
My question, could I plant the bulbs in big planters and then transfer them to the ground?

Peonies typically grow from chunks of root, not bulbs. Do you have a picture or more information to help identify what you've got?
