Q.Male/Female Kiwi Difference

Anonymous added on April 5, 2014 | Answered

I have just bought a garden with an old kiwi vine. The pervious owner says it never fruits. Do I need a female or a male, and how do I know the difference between them if I have to buy the opposite sex?

Yes, you need both a male and female plant for fruiting to occur in kiwis. The female flower will have a tiny fruit inside the blossom. Males will not. Until they flower, however, you cannot tell the sex. Here is more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/kiwi/sex-of-kiwi-plants.htm
