Q.I Have An Apple Tree Which Has Partially Died On One Side. Is It Too Late To Cut Out The Dead Part

The apple tree is a Discovery it is in full bud in one half of the tree Can I cut out the dead portion and any crossing branches of the live tree

You may want to do a scratch test to be sure those branches have died. Here's some info:

I would say to go ahead and remove any branches that are dead and, if you think there is no longer any chance of frost, go ahead and prune the tree:
