Q.Wisteria not blooming

Zone south east | mags added on June 18, 2012 | Answered

I have a wisteria cutting taken about 6 years ago and now is strong but never flowers. Do you have any ideas why that should happen? I don’t want to give up as it came from my parents’ garden and I can’t get another cutting.

There are several reasons for a wisteria not blooming, but the most common is too much nitrogen. Adding some bone meal to the soil should help. This article can give you some other ideas too: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/vines/wisteria/wisteria-blooming-problems.htm
