I cannot get asparagus to grow in my garden. I have planted seeds and roots and neither lives past a couple of years.

Question

I have planted this in raised beds and have amended the soil to what I think they need, but obviously, I must be totally wrong. I have researched on the web also, but nothing seems to work.
