Q.Hydrangeas site prep
I live in zone 7b and have a pretty good sandy loam soil. I’m wanting to plant lots of hydrangeas in a mass along my driveway where it is currently rock, somewhat compact and grass. I wouldn’t say the soil is super compact though and the light is just right. Morning sun, dappled shade through the afternoon & evening. I’m wondering if I need to build up planter boxes filled with a ton of new soil? I plan to add amendments either way, of course. The site is pretty well-drained. Can i put them directly in the ground?
