Q.Hydrangeas

Zone San Diego | nissoma added on March 24, 2015 | Answered

We have enjoyed gorgeous blooming hydrangeas for several years. In 2013 plants produced very few flowers and in 2014 all plants were dead. We have tried planting new plants with no success. Would really appreciate your comments.

This is a stunning display of hydrangea, I understand why you would want to recreate such a beautiful stand of plants.
Did you have a change in watering schedule that may have caused the loss of your plants?
Drought has taken a few of my plants over the past years, so I would start with that as a possibility.
Prior to planting, I would also access your soil.
You may even want to have your soil tested, to ensure success with your new plants.
