Q.How To Trim Honeysuckle Vines From A Patio Cover Lots Of Brown Twigs And Dead Leaves Underneath Flowers
mother nature brought a honeysuckle vine and I let it grow up to a patio cover. It’s been enough years and when I walk on the road above it there is so much Im not sure what to call it. Undergrowth? The vines under the part that is flowering is very brown and the leaves have died. Sometime I take a broom and shake the leaves down. Is total removal the only way? I have gone up the ladder cut a brown part but the end has green growth. Have also gone to side up ladder and tried to lift green growth with one arm which is pretty and cut the brown. Difficult to balance and discouraging. Sorry to go on hope I have explained the difficulty. It’s very thick. Thank you for your time and information.

I would do a rejuvenation pruning (cutting it about a foot from the ground), then keep up with the pruning in the future.
